POSITION:                     Nurse (M-F, 11pm – 7 am shift)

 

LOCATION:                   Acute Treatment Unit

                                          1302 Chinook Lane, Pueblo, CO, 81001

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  An Associates Degree in Nursing and current Colorado RN; or a current Colorado LPN.  Three years experience in a psychiatric/mental health setting.  Knowledge of psychiatric medication is required.

 

OTHER:  Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.  Experience working with severely & persistently mentally ill adults.  Managed care experience preferred.  Will need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.  Valid Colorado driver license & have access to transportation during working hours.  Basic computer skills required. Ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Under the administrative supervision of a Program Director and his/her designee, and the medical supervision of the Psychiatrist, a Nurse:

 

• prepares & dispenses prescribed medications;
• ensures that all medications in a SPMHC facility are securely kept;
• maintains therapeutic milieu;
• conducts intake interviews;
• provides therapy groups, education groups & one on ones;
• keeps accurate, complete & timely records;
• organizes & maintains medication records;
• calls in prescriptions & follow-up on refills, etc;
• orders lab work & reviews need for immediate attention on the doctor's behalf;
• participates in staffings;
• provides hospital admission screening services;
• does basic blood pressures, temperatures, weight monitoring, etc;
• takes the shift lead and assigns tasks to co-workers to insure the smooth operation of the shift; and
• performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Medical Director within the scope of the position.

 

SALARY:                        $3,302– $4,415/month D.O.E.
